Farmpower Hall opened in 2004, exactly 100 years since the first farm tractor was demonstrated in New Zealand.
Local vintage machinery collector, Bruce Alexander, himself a builder and operator of probably the world's biggest hedgecutter - has supplied the bulk of the collection in a partnership arrangement with the Tawhiti Museum.
The evolution from horse drawn equipment to the powered machines of the 1930s - 1950s is clearly demonstrated through this wonderful collection and accompanying life size figures.
