Directly opposite the front door of the museum is Mr Badger's Café. Nestled under the trees it provides a welcoming environment for visitors to relax before resuming their travels. The themed café is restful, warm, friendly and novel. The use of delightful dioramas based on the characters from 'Wind in the Willows' help set the scene and mood of the café.
Even a human sized Mr Badger quietly reads by the fireplace - his feet alarmingly close to the glowing logs. Mr Badger certainly looks at home here in the café bearing his name.
Café fare is all baked daily on the premises - good fresh home cooking - a range of sandwiches, paninis, salads and in season soups and chowders, and to follow a range of yummy cakes and biscuits. With the marvelous coffee aroma mixed with the smell of fresh baking, Mr Badger's Café is a most welcome addition to the museum environment.
